Continuous Design is…

Who can rightfully claim the definition of such a broad concept?

If you Google it, or ask ChatGPT, definitions may slightly vary, however the constant is that it has been defined from the context of software development.

The notion first came into my consciousness in 2013, while designing a visual editor for creating enterprise software applications. The industry had a vision for delivering software faster to better respond to customer needs. They called this Continuous Delivery.

It soon occurred to me: “If delivering software is accelerated, then designing it will have to stay in step. Faster seamless delivery calls for faster seamless design. How would this affect product designers?“.
